The Colorful, Friendly Easter Egger Chicken

Not only are the Easter Egger chickens for sale by our hatcheries sweet and docile, they are very tolerant of a variety of weather conditions and are known for being low-maintenance. They are excellent layers, yielding approximately 280 large to extra-large eggs per year—but that’s not their claim to fame. It will always be the rainbow of egg colors they produce, along with their beautifully hued plumage.

Lineage of Easter Egger Chickens

Our line of Easter Egger chickens was imported from the Czech Republic. They are a hybrid variety—not a particular breed and not to be confused with the Ameraucana—and do not conform to any standard defined by the American Poultry Association.

Easter Egger Chickens’ Unique Features

These chickens gain their notoriety from their uniquely colored eggs. 90% of the eggs they lay will be blue, green, or blue/green—while the rest will be cream, light brown, or light pink. The Easter Eggers we breed lay 280 eggs per year and are tolerant of a number of climates. This is a smaller, docile breed, with roosters reaching 5 pounds and hens weighing 4-4.5 pounds.
