How Chicks Are Shipped
We ship via USPS Priority Mail as part of live poultry shipping, because it helps keep transit moving efficiently for chick shipments. Even so, routes and timing can vary, which is why tracking and readiness on delivery day matter.
Why We Include a Small Overage
You may worry about receiving fewer chicks than you ordered if a loss occurs in transit. That is why we add an extra 2% of birds to most orders, so you are more likely to receive the number of healthy birds you are counting on.
How A Live Chick Delivery Guarantee Works If There’s A Problem
If something isn’t right when your chicks arrive, the next step is simple: check them promptly, document what you see, and reach out quickly. A live chick delivery guarantee is applied based on what happened during shipping, what you observed on arrival, and whether the correct steps were taken right away.
In most cases, we will ask you to confirm:
- You inspected the chicks immediately upon arrival
- Your counts match what was delivered
- You contacted us promptly with details
- Basic warmth and water steps were provided right away
This approach keeps the process fair and consistent. It also helps us respond quickly when a claim qualifies under the chick shipping guarantee.
Where We Ship and Chick Shipping Costs
Clear poultry shipping expectations include where your order can go. Freedom Ranger Hatchery ships chicks anywhere in the continental United States, plus Hawaii.
Shipping costs vary based on your order size and your destination. We do not include shipping in the price of the chicks, helping you avoid unnecessary costs.

Tracking and Delivery Updates for Your Chick Order
Waiting without updates is frustrating, especially when you are preparing a brooder and planning your day around delivery. Tracking is provided so you can plan with confidence and respond quickly when it matters.
We email a tracking number when postage is generated for your order. In most cases, there is also a delivery confirmation number that updates when the shipment arrives at your post office.
