Delivery Information

Here at Freedom Ranger, our prices are per ship date. If you need to place multiple orders on the website at the same time, please create individual orders for each ship date.

To ensure the safety and optimal health of your birds, your order of chicks will be packaged and sent via USPS Priority Mail immediately after the birds are hatched.

We carefully box our birds according to the season so that they have the best chance to survive the weather conditions. We care about our birds and want them to arrive in good condition, but we also understand that nature can take its course during travel. That's why we add an extra 2% of birds to each order to make sure you get the number of live birds you ordered. So, for example, if you purchase 100 chicks, you'll receive 102 to make up for any losses that may happen during shipment.

Upon arrival, make sure that you inspect the birds carefully for any issues during shipment. Our birds mean a lot to us, so we guarantee that the chicks will arrive alive. If not, they will be replaced as quickly as possible.

For your convenience, Freedom Ranger also provides Drop Shipment orders for hatcheries. We can even do Overnight Express Shipping, available upon request. Please also note that shipping charges are subject to change at any time without notice. Contact us for more information on our chicks, pricing, and availability.

How to Prepare for Your Delivery

There are many things to consider before you make your chick purchase. You can find a lot of information on our blog about our baby chicks for sale and how to care for them. We won't go over all of the details here, but these are a few things you should be sure of before you purchase our premium birds.

  1. It's essential that you have everything you need set up and ready to go for when your baby chicks arrive. The birds will be stressed from shipment, so ensuring they have a warm place to get comfortable is essential.

Also, because your baby chicks are shipped right after they're hatched, they won't have access to any food and water until they arrive at your location. Prior to hatching the chick absorbs the yolk, this then becomes their food source, and they are fine without food and water for at least 72 hours.

  2. Make sure you place an order for the correct amount of chicks and have chosen the right chicken breed for your purposes. For example, if you want to raise egg-layers and you ordered a straight run, you're going to get a mixed gender assortment of chicks, which isn't optimal for egg-laying. Our best piece of advice is that if you are unsure of what you need—or how many—give us a call, and we can help you make a final decision before you order.
